I don't know why anyone would think science fiction is not escapist literature/programming, unless you're talking about the dark kind which only remind us what sorry real lives we live. I use the screen name Lookin^Up because my goal in sci-fi is to stay positive, to show a good future for humanity, not one rife with war, corruption, sexual liaisons, and political morass, as we see in abundance today. I prefer to present a world where these no longer exist, which is the thrust of my upcoming novel, Savage Worlds.

Thank you for posting this article, Tamera.

Tom - this posting is really old, so I'm not sure it is even current. Oh well.

I have a few novel length stories I'd like to serialize as free blogs. My problem to this point has been finding a Blogging format or template that would allow one website to host several stories, each of which was archived by chapters. I have to believe that is being done, but I haven't found it yet.

Based on your experience blogging a novel, I'm curious it you have any ideas.

Thanks for any input you can offer.

Rod Serling said, "“Fantasy is the impossible made probable; science fiction is the improbable made possible.” To me, science fiction turns into fantasy when it starts to break scientific laws. I like scifi, fantasy, and even a combination of both, but I want my serious science fiction to follow the rules.

Also, remember Arthur C. Clarke's Third Law: "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."
